A series of new traffic safety measures have been completed in the Meadows Area.
These improvements were proposed by the Traffic Committee and approved and funded by the HOA Board. Previous improvements have included the posting of 15 MPH speed limit signs and the removal of a dumpster in the pool parking lot that was blocking driver visibility. |
These measures include the following:
(a) Two new stop signs at the swimming pool exit and the intersection of Hamilton Chapel Terrace and Welborne Manor Square.
(b) Three new “Watch for Children” signs at the Hamilton Chapel and Welborne Manor entrances and on Stoke Chapel Terrace.
(c) Seven new painted cross walks and stop bars at intersections of high pedestrian traffic (particularly school children) plus a painted cross-walk for the bike trail that crosses Stoke Chapel Terrace.
(d) Trimming of trees to provide better visibility on Welborne Manor Square adjoining the pool parking lot.
(e) Repainting of a no parking area next to a fire hydrant on Welborne Manor Square.
(f) A small section of fence at the intersection Hamilton Chapel and Welborne Manor to prevent children from running through the trees to the bus stop.
The Traffic Committee has received additional suggestions for traffic safety improvements from Meadows residents and the HOA Board has stated they are open to consideration of additional improvements. Comments and suggestions from residents are always welcome.
We urge LVE residents to drive carefully on all of our streets and especially to protect the large number of children living in our community.
