Chesapeake Bay Preservation and Loudoun County Print E-mail

This past Monday, May 24th, I attended the Chesapeake Bay Preservation act Pulic Hearing to listen to all of the view points and have some notes to share. During the intermission I was able to speak to Steven’s Miller who appears to be for this ordinance and he would like to come talk to us, thus we have invited him to come talk to us at the next BOD meeting, he will arrive @6pm. I found the presentation to be very factual and less explosive than many of the write ups in the papers. Though many of our properties are in or have RPA space on them, in general it is a small section in the rear of the majority of lots. That being said several section of the townhouses and the Hunt have lots that are 40% or greater in the RPA and will require exceptions and waivers. The Townhouse section has several lots that are 100% in the RPA and possibly closer than 50 feet to the water body that might require engineering consulting to put up a fence, shed or other structure. More information on this new ordinance and other related material can be found at http://www.loudoun.gov/chesapeakebay/

Please help us understand your thoughts on the issues so that the BOD can formulate a position on this topic. Please use this forum as a place to voice your thoughts on this issue. Also please join us on June 3rd @6pm to hear from representative Miller and ask any questions you might have.

Thanks

William Stevens
President, Loudoun Valley Estates HOA

LVE RAP Phase1 2010 Print E-mail

At the 2010 Annual Meeting held in March the Open Spaces Committee (OSC) introduced the Roadway Aforestation Plan (RAP). The objective of the plan is to provide a tree and shrub buffer that when fully mature will provide LVE residents with a screen that provides both privacy and noise reduction from the Loudoun County Parkway and Ryan Road.

As discussed at the Annual Meeting the first section of the community to be addressed will be the Meadows (townhomes). The OSC would like you to review the plan and provide your invaluable input. They will be meeting to finalize the plan on Thursday, May 20th at 7:00 p.m. in the Clubhouse Community Room located at 43636 Lucketts Bridge Circle and welcome your attendance. Read the plan here.
