| Pool Passes for the 2012 pool season will be required from all homeowners & residents wishing to use the community pools during the summer season. Passes can be obtained from the on-site property management office Monday through Friday. Homeowners that already have passes from previous seasons may use those same passes this year. If you are a tenant, you will need to provide an updated rental agreement in order to have your passes activated for this season. Please note, replacment passes are $10/each. |

- Parents, or responsible guardian, must watch your children closely whenever they are near or in the water, regardless of their age or swimming ability.
- No children under 12 years of age, regardless of swimming ability, are allowed in the pool area without parent or responsible guardian 16 years old or older. Parent/guardian must maintain visual contact with, and control of the child at all times.
- A parent or responsible guardian, 16 years old or older, must accompany and remain within arms reach of any individual with a known medical or physical condition that could place them at higher than normal risk while bathing in the pool.
- Children 12 years of age or older, who wish to swim without a parent or guardian present, and in water over their heads must pass the swimming test. The pool manager or a designated lifeguard will administer swimming tests. Children who do not pass the test must have a parent/guardian present and will be restricted to swimming in the shallow end of the pool. The test will include having the children swim the length of the pool and tread water for one minute.
- No prolonged underwater swimming, breath-holding or games including such behavior will be allowed.
- Because artificial floatation devices may interfere or disrupt the lifeguard’s view of the water, or may provide a false sense of security to the user, they are prohibited from use. Prohibited items include, but not limited to, rafts and inner tubes.
- Exception i. Kickboards, noodles and water wings are allowed only if the child is accompanied by an adult who is in the pool.
- Exception ii. Persons with disabilities. If a pool patron requires the assistance of a flotation device as an aid for a qualified disability, that patron must notify the Pool Manager on duty of the need for such a device upon each visit to the pool.
- No playing around the pool drains.
- Diving wells are restricted to diving only. Swimming in the diving well area is prohibited regardless of swimming ability.
- No diving from the poolside is allowed in the shallow areas of the pool.
- Running, horseplay, playing ball, tag games, etc. are not allowed in the water, on the deck or in the locker rooms.
- Appropriate swimwear must be worn at all times.
- All children not toilet trained and incontinent adults must wear swim diapers while in the pool. Disposable diapers are not permitted.
- The “Emergency signal” for clearing the pool is (3) BLASTS OF THE WHISTLE. When this signal is sounded, all swimmers must promptly leave the pool by the nearest ladder or pool edge.
- All authorized patrons 18 years of age or older, may bring up to 2 guests. In order to bring more guests’ patrons have to obtain permission from the Property Manager. Residents are responsible for their guests’ actions.
- Radios or CD/tape players must be kept well away from the water. Volume must remain at a reasonable level so as not to disturb other patrons. If a pool patron complains about the volume, the Guard will have it adjusted to an acceptable level.
- No abusive or profane language is allowed in the pool area.
- No alcoholic beverages allowed.
- No glass allowed.
- There will be immediate expulsion for fighting, violent acts, or any unsafe behavior. Persons causing any undue disturbance will be asked to immediately leave the pool area.
- No lifeguard will be on duty at the wading pools. A Parent/guardian must be inside the wading pool enclosure supervising children at all times.
- The Guards are on duty for your protection. Do not distract them in any way. If you need to talk with one of them, wait until she/he is away from their guarding post.
- The Lifeguard is the absolute authority in all matters pertaining to the safety, operation and management of the pool.
- In the event that there is no guard present the pool is officially closed and no one is to enter the water.
Crystal Aquatics will be offering group swim lessons this summer at Loudoun Valley Estates. The first session of swim lessons will begin once school is out for the year. Group classes will be held at the Townhouse Pool in the morning, Monday through Thursday, before the pool opening for general swimming. Each session consists of eight half hour lessons for a total cost of $55. The Townhome Pool Manager,Sarah, will be managing registration for classes and can be contacted directly at the pool. Payment for the classes is required at the time of registration so please bring your checkbook or cash. Class space is limited and will be provided on a first come, first serve basis. Additional group sessions will be available later in the summer.
Private swimming lessons are available at both pools just discuss it with the Pool Managers and Lifeguards.
Four levels of instruction will be available for group swimming lessons: Pre-Beginner, Beginner, Novice, and Advanced.
Pre-Beginner - The objective of this class is to get the student acclimated to the water in a safe and controlled environment. The class will be working on basic water skills such as submerging the head, blowing bubbles, and instructor assisted kicks. The general age for this class ranges from 3 to 5 years old.
Beginner – The student should be able to submerge his or her head before entering the beginner level. At this level the class will begin working on the basic fundamentals of swimming: floating, kicking, arm movement, and rhythmic breathing. General age for this class ranges from 4 to 6+ years old.
Novice – In the novice class the students begin to refine their freestyle, and elementary backstroke. They will be expected to work in deeper water and will be introduced to treading water and diving. General age for this class ranges from 5 to 8+ years old.
Advanced – The advanced class is recommended for students that wish to improve their stroke technique and/or become stronger swimmers. The class will work on a variety of strokes. The student should feel comfortable in deep water. General age for this class ranges from 6 to 10 years old.

The on-site management office just got a call from the Sheriff's office reminding residents to CLOSE your garage doors, LOCK all your exterior doors and SECURE possessions out of view in your vehicles and LOCK the doors. There have been two break-ins over the past 24hr within Loudoun Valley Estates where these preventative measures were not taken.
